This all started on the walk in to work. A flurry of text messages to friends asking them if they wanted to go on a trip. To Owen “1st week in June, You me and Stew, Snowdon and other peaks, we have tent and Bag just need you, you Games?”. Even as I sent it I knew better than to expect the answer I wanted, my friends are great guys and gals but this fixation of mine to climb and walk around the UK is a new thing not really there thing. They may tell you other wise but i know them better than that.

After a long night at work, Im back at home, reading “Mud Sweat and Tears” by Bear Grylls, and in chapter one, Im already inspired to want to do something. I’m already doing a trip to Scotland next year and if that does go ahead you’ll be abel to ready about that too, (should you so choose anyways. It could be that after reading this blog you don’t want to read any more of my ramblings….) but what about staying closer to home? An adventure doesn’t have to be miles away in some totally different part of the country does it?

I keep close tabs on some guy call Justin Minns on Facebook, he’s an awesome photographer and he does most of his work in and around the east coast. Some truly stunning images from Southwold to Cromer and back down to Ipswich. So with Justin and Bear and my muse and inspiration, the idea is forming. My plan is to walk about 120 miles of the east coast from Sunny Hunstanton down to the Docks at Felixstowe, and sticking as close to the coast as i can for the entire journey.

Well its rained all day. hate being stuck indoors on my day off.

I did plan to have some fun with the fountain at waterloo park. I like the the way the tiny planet shot turned out, but the slow shutter app was crap! It didn’t leave the shutter open just layered several images over each other. The result lots of water droplets and not the silky water I wanted. Will have to take the DSLR to the park on sunday me thinks…weather permitting.

I did redo the shot of the rose. Used the tripod this time as well. The result is the image is a lot clearer. Shame I didn’t have the sun light from before though. Looks like I can’t win at times.

Well I have a meeting with the bank in the morning, so early night for me.

14/1825 A self portrait. Shot in the dark with only the light from the screen. Was fun to set up. Metering and focus done with the lights on, the the lights off with the remote. Thanks god for RAW. Had to do a lot of work to try and expose some of this image.

As i don’t finish work till 1am ish, It don’t count as being tomorrow even is the time stamp and date says otherwise….

Well done to Chelsea, they done well tonight. 10 men are harder to take apart than most people think esp. when all of them defend. Oh and as for JT missing the final, karma’s a bitch!

Any ways back to photography. After looking over some photos, and talking to Rob, I have come to the conclusion that I need to slow down, and use all the tools at my disposal. This is all in reference to my Rose. As good as it looks its not quite as crisp as i would have likes, and odds are its due to camera shake. When you look at the shutter speed its only 1/60th of a second. Now this to combat this I should have used a tripod, but in the interest of doing this quickly I didn’t bother…. lesson learnt….

Ok if any one was really reading my post last night, yo would have noticed that I say i would do 10 photos a day, well that last a whole 24hrs…. I have reduced it down to 5 day. All though doing 10 today would have be easy per say, in a few weeks times there is only so many times i can get a unique and interesting photo of the pub I work at.

Either way, the first 5 are up, Its great that I can do this using my iPhone 4S as well. The 5MP camera is very good and the apps you can get for it make it a great tool. They say the best camera is the one you have on you.

My final pic for to day was a Rose as part of my flower collection for Spray. It worked really well, with a red shirt in the background.

Lets hope the sun comes out tomorrow, failing that, a wet day with some damp pictures….

So, this is an insight in to me! Adam Davies the Photographer! Ill be honest, its kinda scary when you put it like that, but then it isn’t it the same with any change in title in life. Be it when you have to say out loud that your 30, or a father, or a manager of a pub. Some american once said that if your goals don’t scare you, there not big enough. Hmmm must be doing something right then!

Any how the point of this, like any blog is to drum up interest in me, or more the point my work, and my company, Spray Photography. As a website is quite a static, this is were I get to express my self more openly. This will also be a were you can set challenges and requests for what you would like to see, and I’ll then put my own twist on it.

My muse for this was my sister. She has set me the task of taking 5 photos a day, for the next year! No small feat when you take in to account that I currently also had a full time job, and a family with 2 wonderful children. So 5 photos a day….. well as its sunday night, starting now would be a daft, so my year will run 23rd of April 2012 to the 22nd April 2013. Wish me luck and see you tomorrow, with hopefully my first 5!
